Detailed Breakdown
The defining image of December's festivities...a jolly McTomo! Links to galleries and videos below...
And what a year it's been! From all the organizers, a big thanks to all you guys for showing up, keeping things chilled and fun, and chucking some silver in the donations tin. We've got some tweaks in store for 2009 that should make things a little better...but enough idle chat, let's get to the series results!
(queue dramatice music and wait for a very annoying 30 seconds...)
1. Greg Hampton - 782 pts
2. Andy Hughes - 777 pts
3. Elliot Machin - 774.8 pts
4. Dave Cotton - 764.2 pts
5. Adam Halling - 762.8 pts
6. John Hayes - 742 pts
7. Dan Green - 715 pts
8. Aaron Neumann - 714.4 pts
9. Matt Smith - 707.6 pts
10. Rich Parsons - 698 pts
Those results are based on the best 8 runs. We had 23 people make at least 8 sessions, so we may reduce that requirement to 7 or 6 for next year. I've also added two new columns to the BUM chart titled that give the Average points scored each round (minimum two rounds required) and the how the Average points rank. This is an indication of a riders speed regardless of how many rounds they completed. The top three Average point scorers were Mark Milward, Dave Upton, and Greg Hampton.
The new 15 and Under class has had some shake ups in points. I'm sorry that I'd previously missed a few 15 and Under rider's out of the class. Hopefully everyone's included now...
1. Sam Hopkins - 667.8 pts
2. Ben Robson - 472.2 pts
3. Alistair May - 376.6 pts
4. Elliot Gill - 365 pts
5. Joe Ellement - 277.4 pts
6. Henry Simons - 262.2 pts
7. Davide Upton - 200 pts
8. Luke Cryer - 198 pts
9. Will Weston - 191.6 pts
10. Billy Netherton - 184 pts
Not many of the juniors were able to make all 8 practices. Based on the Average points per round, Will Weston was fastest, with Sam Hopkins and Alistair May behind him. 2009 will definitely be an interesting year for our Juniors category!
I can also reveal that the Racer's Guild is forming a top level racing team for 2009. It will include some of the fastest Guild members, and will tour the NPS, Pearce, and other local race series. Riders have already been selected for the "Squadron", and expect to see more information and a new website for the team in early 2009.
